NPM- Poem 3, Day 10

This Language

In this language every syllable
is stressed. This language is spoken
on six islands in seven seas. This
language has a sound made completely
in the nose. This language can crack
eyeglasses, has no singular, must be socialist.
This language was devised
by a comedian. This language
is designed to be easily understood
by dogs, includes at least two
unpronounceable vowels.
This language mimics rain—
can only be informal, only sung.
This language is a sign of breeding,
is a cultural resource,
empowers the disenfranchised.
This language is full of smut,
is sounded on the inhales, works
better while flossing. This language is
contextual, obligatorily gesticulated.
This language always sounds
like your mother.
